Hilaria Baldwin Shares ‘Gentle’ Stretch Routine After Miscarriage

Yoga instructor (and wife to Alec Baldwin Opens a New Window. ) Hilaria Baldwin continues to make caring for her body a priority, sharing a stretch routine that’s helpful for recovery following her miscarriage.

“I’m being super gentle with my body right now, considering what it has just been through,” Hilaria wrote on a video she posted Opens a New Window. on Instagram on Sunday, April 14, “but I start getting stiff and uncomfortable due to lack of my typical movement. Here are some light stretches I turned to today that have helped me, while sticking with my recovery . They feel good and I think you may like them too.”

In the brief, at-home routine, the social media star, 35, starts by stretching her shoulders and upper back against an ottoman in a modified child pose before moving into a downward dog where she pedals her feet to stretch out the hamstrings and calves. She then moves into a wide-legged forward fold, shifting her weight from side to side, which stretches the inner legs, groin and hips — all areas that are particularly prone to stiffness in people who sit for long hours every day.

Hilaria follows that up with a prayer hand squat, another hip opener that also benefits balance and concentration. Next comes a second shoulder and upper back stretch combined with a back-of-legs stretch against the ottoman. For her final active pose, the New York City resident performs a standing twist with one hand on the floor and the other raised to the ceiling on each side of her body, then moves into child’s pose to finish the routine.

The star — who has daughter Carmen, 5, and sons Rafael, 3, Leonardo, 2 and Romeo, 10 months, with her husband — revealed in an April 4 Instagram that she was “most likely experiencing a miscarriage Opens a New Window. .” Since that initial lengthy and emotional post, the fitness guru has been open with her emotions following the loss.
